Georgetown University seeks a Landscape Gardener to perform semi-skilled landscape labor work, preparing and maintaining the university’s landscaped areas. In this role, you will be a key part of the Facilities Management department, contributing to the services that keep our historic campus beautiful and functional.
What You'll Do
- Perform grass mowing, trimming, and edging.
- Remove weeds and conduct daily policing of the grounds.
- Irrigate lawns and planted areas.
- Perform mulching, reactivate flower beds and tree saucers.
- Lay sod.
- Assist in the application of pesticides and other related work.
- Perform monthly assignments according to seasonal schedules.
- Respond to requests for service, such as preventive maintenance of storm drains.
- Respond to emergencies.
- Use all standard tools, equipment, materials, and supplies of the trade.
- Observe all safety rules, regulations, and precautions.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or equivalency.
- One to three years of grounds landscape maintenance experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to operate pickup trucks, tractors, skid steer loaders, all-terrain vehicles, and other specialized grounds equipment.

Team & Environment
You will be part of a central landscape maintenance team, reporting directly to the Landscape and Grounds Supervisor. You will also report indirectly to Gardener II or Gardener positions and work alongside eight other laborers.
