As a Key Account Manager in the Central Plains region, you will lead strategic initiatives to grow market share and strengthen customer relationships within the infectious disease diagnostics space. Covering Iowa and Nebraska, you'll work directly with healthcare systems, laboratories, clinics, and urgent care providers to deliver diagnostic solutions that enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, guiding contract renewals, negotiations, and long-term growth strategies
- Develop and execute tailored account plans that align with customer goals and drive product adoption
- Collaborate with distribution partners to train sales teams, monitor performance, and ensure consistent market representation
- Use Salesforce (SFDC) and PowerBI to manage the sales pipeline, forecast performance, and analyze account health
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders including marketing, technical service, finance, and pricing to deliver a unified customer experience
- Lead customer business reviews, proactively address challenges, and implement solutions to improve satisfaction and retention
- Stay current on competitive offerings, regulatory requirements, and market trends to inform strategy and positioning
- Support onboarding of new clients and develop strategies to maximize reagent utilization and long-term loyalty
- Forecast demand based on shifts in healthcare policy, regulations, and clinical needs
- Ensure compliance with FDA standards, company policies, and ethical business practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; preference given to degrees in business, life sciences, or healthcare
- Minimum of four years of successful sales experience in the medical diagnostics or related healthcare industry
- Proven ability in complex sales environments, contract negotiation, and strategic planning
- Strong understanding of lab operations, point-of-care settings, and health economics
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and data analysis tools
- Willingness to travel frequently within the territory, including overnight stays (~35% of time)
