What You'll Do
As a Key Account Manager, you will lead strategic engagement with key healthcare customers across Iowa and Nebraska, focusing on long-term growth and account retention. You’ll develop tailored plans that align Abbott’s diagnostic technologies with customer goals, ensuring adoption, efficiency, and satisfaction.
You’ll conduct in-depth business reviews, identify opportunities to expand product utilization, and proactively address challenges. Using tools like SFDC and PowerBI, you’ll track performance, forecast demand, and maintain a clear view of the sales pipeline. You are responsible for contract development, pricing strategy, and bid submissions, ensuring competitive positioning.
This role includes managing and training third-party distributor teams, equipping them to represent Abbott’s portfolio effectively. You’ll coordinate sales efforts, provide market insights, and align cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Technical Service, and Finance to deliver a seamless customer experience.
Requirements
- Hold a bachelor’s degree and have at least four years of successful experience in medical sales, preferably in diagnostics
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of laboratory operations, point-of-care environments, and health system economics
- Be comfortable traveling frequently within the territory, including overnight stays (~35% of the time)
- Apply analytical thinking to interpret market trends and customer data using Microsoft platforms
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners to achieve shared objectives

Work Mode
This is a field-based position serving the Central Plains region, covering Iowa and Nebraska. You must be prepared to travel locally and regionally up to four days per week, with occasional overnight trips.
