About the Role
This role involves assisting in the identification and mitigation of security incidents, maintaining security tools, and contributing to the improvement of threat detection and response processes.
Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts across network and cloud environments
- Respond to incidents under guidance from senior team members
- Assist in investigating potential threats and anomalies
- Support the maintenance of security monitoring systems
- Document security events and resolution steps
- Participate in routine security audits and checks
- Help manage access controls and identity permissions
- Contribute to vulnerability scanning and reporting
- Track and categorize security events using internal systems
- Collaborate with engineering teams on security improvements
- Escalate complex issues to senior analysts
- Follow established incident response playbooks
- Maintain awareness of emerging threats and attack patterns
- Support compliance with security policies and standards
- Assist in deploying security patches and updates
Nice to Have
- Completion of cybersecurity training or bootcamp
- Hands-on lab experience with security tools
- Familiarity with firewalls and endpoint protection
- Basic knowledge of Linux system administration
- Experience with ticketing or case management systems
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks like ISO or SOC2
- Prior internship in a technical security role
- Exposure to threat intelligence platforms
