Our client, a U.S.-based ABA therapy provider committed to compassionate pediatric services, is seeking a Junior Medical Billing Representative. This role involves meticulous preparation, submission, and follow-up of insurance claims for healthcare services. Responsibilities encompass verifying documentation, entering billing data, tracking claim statuses, and supporting billing discrepancy resolution to facilitate timely reimbursement.
Working hours:
- Sunday to Thursday from 16h00pm to 01:00am (SA Time)
IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS:
- Public Holidays: Role requires working on both South African and U.S. public holidays (compensation per BCEA).
- Internet Requirements: Fixed fibre line with minimum 25 Mbps (upload & download) and wired Ethernet mandatory.
- Power Backup: Reliable backup required to manage load shedding or outages.
- Work Environment: Fully remote.
Job Responsibilities:
Claim Processing & Billing
- Prepare and submit insurance claims accurately within timelines.
- Enter billing and service data into systems with precision.
- Verify session notes, timesheets, and documentation pre-submission.
Documentation Review
- Review service and therapist documentation for completeness.
- Report missing or incorrect information to appropriate team members.
Insurance Follow-Up
- Track claim statuses and pursue pending, denied, or returned claims.
- Assist in identifying potential claim rejection errors.
- Maintain accurate claim progress records.
Issue Resolution
- Support billing team in resolving basic errors and coding issues.
- Request additional information from internal teams.
Communication & Reporting
- Communicate clearly with colleagues and U.S.-based teams.
- Provide routine updates on claim progress and trends.
- Meet deadlines and follow billing workflows.
Compliance & Confidentiality
- Adhere to U.S. healthcare billing standards and organizational policies.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail with analytical problem-solving approach.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- BPO or U.S. client experience preferred.
- Medical billing or insurance processing background beneficial.
- Patient, empathetic, and professional customer interaction skills.
