Jack Link’s Protein Snacks is seeking a meticulous FSQ Auditor to join our team. In this critical role, you will ensure our food safety and quality standards are consistently met within our manufacturing facility. You will perform detailed inspections, monitor product quality, maintain compliance documentation, and implement corrective actions.
What You'll Do
- Perform quality inspections on random product samples for attributes like thickness, weight, and metal detection.
- Conduct pre-op inspections and first piece checks at shift start or product changeover.
- Monitor product safety, recipe adherence, and accurate product identification.
- Manage plant hold and release procedures.
- Enter quality inspection data into electronic and written forms.
- Record deviations in a compliance tracker and escalate to leadership.
- Process inbound and outbound supplier corrective action requests.
- Perform weekly and daily audits.
- Prepare forms and trend charts to support kitchen and packaging inspections.
- Implement corrective actions for deviations, including product loss adjustments.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Perform HACCP sign-off based on qualifications.
- Review and close hold tags; report missing tags.
- Verify equipment condition and calibration.
- Maintain HACCP, SSOP, SQF, and Prerequisite programs for accuracy and implementation.
- Follow and observe team compliance with GMPs, HACCP, SOPs, and SSOPs.
- Act as a backup for daily operational checklists.
- Assist the Quality Control Supervisor in investigating serious or repeated quality problems.
- Maintain SQF and HACCP documentation.
- Assist with Quality Control and Production audits.
- Perform all duties within OSHA and company safety standards, including LOTO and PPE use.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- Immediately report all accidents and deficiencies.
- Ensure safety devices are installed and functional.
- Monitor the work environment for food safety hazards like condensation.
- Communicate effectively and timely with coworkers and leaders.
- Keep supervisors informed of daily shift problems.
- Suggest improvements to continuously enhance support activities.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of experience or training in a manufacturing or food environment.
- An aptitude for math.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects.
- Superior accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to proactively solve work-related problems.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to organize and prioritize in a multi-tasking environment.
- Ability to collaborate with remote employees and work as part of a team.
- Exceptional time management skills.
- Firm knowledge of quality assurance methods, product testing, regulatory compliance, and documentation.
- Proficient in Internet navigation, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated effective leadership, problem-solving, presentation, and motivational skills.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Science, Technical, Business, or a laboratory field.
- Knowledge and experience in quality systems and production.
- Prior knowledge of food processing equipment.
- Basic knowledge of supply chain, purchasing, materials, or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of SAP.
- HACCP certification (must be completed within 6 months if not certified).
- Ability to calibrate delicate instruments and take accurate readings on fine gauges.
