The Washington State Senate Republican Caucus is hiring an IT System Administrator to support the TraCS (Traffic and Criminal Software) platform. You will be responsible for ensuring agency and external customer needs are met by configuring the application, maintaining data integrity, and providing direct technical support to users for collision, tow, and DUI arrest reporting.
What You'll Do
- Configure and maintain the TraCS application to meet agency operational and security requirements.
- Manage user access levels, permissions, and controls to ensure secure access.
- Monitor system data integrity, resolving any discrepancies or issues promptly.
- Establish disaster recovery protocols.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for system-related issues, troubleshooting, and resolution.
- Provide technical support for end users to ensure effective system use.
- Maintain and enhance the TraCS database, model, tables, and code values.
- Develop reports to support TraCS users and the Washington State Patrol.
- Create user guides and documentation for staff.
- Optimize system configurations and workflows to improve efficiency and usability.
- Support the integration of TraCS with other systems and tools.
- Customize the system and develop forms to meet evolving business needs.
- Ensure the system complies with all relevant regulations, policies, and standards, including CJIS requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams, IT staff, and the Technology Enterprise Group to resolve complex issues.
- Communicate system updates, changes, and outages to stakeholders.
- Ensure reporting tools are functional and accessible to authorized users.
- Identify and implement proactive system improvements.
- Perform data validation to ensure accurate data collection.
- Maintain database integrity.
- Test new vendor-provided software versions.
- Code, debug, and verify new traffic-related forms within TraCS using a proprietary integrated development environment.
- Evaluate requests for changes, determine impact on the TraCS ecosystem, and communicate technical concerns.
What We're Looking For
- An associate degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or a related field, plus six years of experience using, consulting, analyzing, designing, programming, installing, supporting, and/or maintaining software applications.
- OR a four-year degree in a related field plus four years of relevant software application experience.
- OR eight years of relevant software application experience.
- Three years of experience supporting and using: Microsoft Windows 10 or higher, Microsoft Office products, Wireless devices, Network connectivity, and Help desk/desktop support.
- Two years of experience using SQL to create reports and data extracts.
