Support the continuous operation of a local news broadcast facility by maintaining critical IT and broadcast systems. This role ensures reliability across studio environments, remote production units, and transmission sites through proactive maintenance, rapid troubleshooting, and system optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily technical operations, ensuring all broadcast and IT systems function reliably during live news production.
- Install, configure, and maintain broadcast hardware, networked servers, and specialized software across multiple locations.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly, applying effective repairs or temporary fixes to minimize disruption.
- Perform scheduled maintenance, including security updates and reboots of mission-critical broadcast servers.
- Document system configurations and changes to maintain accurate technical records.
- Assist with field setups for remote broadcasts and contribute to occasional facility maintenance tasks.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in IT support with proven knowledge of computer hardware, networking, and Microsoft Active Directory.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Capable of operating under pressure and adapting to urgent technical demands during live broadcasts.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting technical status and coordinating with team members.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
- Physically able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, handle cabling, and use hand and power tools as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate news vehicles for transport between sites.
Work Environment
This is an onsite position based in Fayetteville, requiring regular presence at studio and transmitter locations. The schedule is flexible and aligns with the demands of 24/7 news operations, including on-call availability.
