Nokia is hiring an IP Solution Architect to shape the architecture and technical scope for critical customer projects. You will guide solutions from offer commencement through final delivery, establishing contractual requirements and developing E2E designs that meet specifications and quality constraints.
What You'll Do
- Assist Business Development during pre-sales by defining Physical and Logical Solution Architecture, partitioning system requirements, and analyzing alternatives.
- Identify Key Technical Risks and Issues and develop mitigation plans in the pre-sales phase.
- Provide key inputs for technical decisions relating to system requirements and architecture.
- Develop System/Solution Requirements and identify key Use Cases with acceptance criteria during project execution.
- Derive product and solution requirements aligned with the Statement of Work, coordinating across project, design, and deployment teams.
- Develop E2E Solution Architecture and support High-Level Design across multiple technology domains.
- Determine Physical and Logical Solution Architecture, partition system requirements, analyze alternatives, and define subsystems.
- Provide and review High-Level Design, Low-Level Design, and Interface Specifications.
- Proactively identify and address technical risks, conduct risk assessments, and execute mitigation strategies.
- Review roadmap alignment for the solution with Product Lifecycle Management engagement.
- Maintain traceability between requirement sets and to architecture, design, and verification documents.
- Be accountable for the technical accuracy of the design solution and its resulting implementation.
- Assist with the technical delivery of the end-to-end project from design implementation to acceptance.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 12+ years of experience in the telecom industry, specifically with IP-MPLS and BNG technologies.
- Experience in designing and delivering Residential Broadband solutions such as BNG, BNS CUPS, FWA-BNG, CGNAT, and WAG.
- Detailed understanding of IP/MPLS, SRv6, Segment Routing, BGP EVPN concepts and related technologies.
- Knowledgeable on Virtualization, SDN & NFV, Cloud, and SDN concepts and related technologies.
- Knowledgeable on Network Management Systems, networking concepts and related technologies.
- Excellent skills in designing E2E Mobile Networks, Backhaul and Core Solutions and Concepts.
- Knowledgeable on Data Center Fabric and DC automation.
- Strong Linux/Unix shell and datacenter networking knowledge.
- Hands-on experience including design, build, deploy, trouble-shooting & fault-finding.
- Knowledge on 4G/5G mobile Core deployments.
- Fluency in English – both written and verbal communication.
Nice to Have
- Skills in Kubernetes, VMWare ESXi, vCloud/vCenter, OpenStack, CloudStack, OpenFlow, KVM, Xen, or Hyper-V.
- Experience with Nokia IP Router portfolio including 7x50 XRS/SR/ES, 7250 IXR and 7705/7210.
- Experience with Nokia Broadband Network Gateway solution.
- Nokia SRA/Virtuoso, Cisco CCIE, Juniper JNCIE or equivalent Certification.
- Experience with RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu, Java, Python/Perl.
