Responsibilities

  • Assesses and addresses customer needs, providing tailored wealth and investment services.
  • Offers guidance on investment strategies and products aligned with customer goals.
  • Executes sales and service tasks for customers following approved guidelines.
  • Refers customers to other business units as necessary.
  • Proactively contacts customers to identify opportunities for enhancing their investment experience.
  • Stays informed about market trends, industry best practices, and regulatory changes.
  • Delivers high-quality sales and service for customer inquiries, issues, and requests.
  • Investigates customer needs and offers personalized investment advice.
  • Meets sales targets with a focus on relevant investment products.
  • Manages transactional outcomes of customer interactions or refers to appropriate internal teams.
  • Escalates complex customer issues to senior management when necessary.
  • Completes required documentation post-interaction to ensure accurate processing of customer requests.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of investment markets and trends, integrating this into customer conversations.
  • Incorporates marketing promotions and programs into customer discussions where suitable.
  • Ensures the confidentiality of customer and bank information.
  • Identifies and reports suspicious activities related to money laundering.
  • Complies with regulatory and compliance requirements, including anti-money laundering and privacy regulations.
  • Handles complex and diverse tasks within given parameters and manages escalations from other employees.
  • Analyzes issues and determines appropriate next steps.
  • May take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Typically 2-3 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of market trends and product offerings in the competitive landscape.
  • Familiarity with investment products and services.
  • Basic understanding of risk management and compliance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Effective collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

  • Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or CIRO licensing as an Investment Representative.
  • Completion of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (CIRE) and the Derivatives Exam within a specified timeframe.
