Work within a dedicated Internal Audit and Controls Assurance team based in Belfast, delivering robust solutions to help organisations strengthen their governance, risk, and compliance frameworks. This role focuses on non-financial services sectors and offers the opportunity to engage in meaningful projects centred on internal controls, SOX compliance, and assurance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end delivery of audit and controls engagements, from initial planning through fieldwork to final reporting
- Assist clients in building or improving their internal control environments and SOX compliance programmes
- Produce clear, accurate planning documents and reports for internal review and client use
- Present findings and updates to senior team members and stakeholders as needed
- Coach and guide junior colleagues during project execution to strengthen team capabilities
- Contribute to business development efforts, including responses to client tenders and capability proposals
Qualifications and Skills
Candidates should bring a solid foundation in internal audit and controls, with at least two years of relevant experience. A degree in a related field is expected, along with progress toward professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIIA—part-qualified or fully qualified status accepted.
Essential competencies include strong report writing, effective presentation skills, and the ability to interpret technical standards including SOX and internal audit methodologies. You should also demonstrate business insight and the confidence to engage with management-level stakeholders.
