Bombardier is looking for an Intern, Avionics Integration to join our global team focused on collaboration and teamwork. In this role, you will support the integration of critical avionics systems for our aircraft, assisting experienced integrators with requirements, working with suppliers, supporting certification, and helping to resolve design issues.
What You'll Do
- Work on one or more avionics systems: Communication (VHF, HF, SATCOM, Datalink), Navigation (ADF, VOR, ILS, DME, TCAS, Transponder, IRS, GPS, FMS, Weather Radar), Displays (EFIS, EICAS, HUD, SVS), or Information/Maintenance & Recording systems (IMS, OMS, Data Loading, CVR, FDR, AHMS).
- Assist in defining and managing system and subsystem requirements to ensure aircraft safety, certification, and design objectives are met.
- Work with system suppliers and other interface providers to ensure smooth integration on the aircraft.
- Write reports and documentation to support avionics system certifications.
- Support ARP4754 system verification and validation and aircraft requirements.
- Support the final assembly line and in-service aircraft for any design-related issues.
- Design the change management process in a large-scale engineering organization.
- Manage aspects of the aircraft lifecycle and system requirements.
- Exercise priority and time management effectively.
What We're Looking For
- Completed the 3rd year of a 4-year program in electrical, electronic, software, aerospace engineering, or an equivalent field.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written) with the ability to convey complex ideas simply through written reports and presentations.
- Self-motivated, organized, and possessing strong analytical skills.
- Able to work well in a team environment and be proactive.
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel and the Office suite.
- Knowledge of aeronautical operations concepts.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of SharePoint and SAP.
- Knowledge of specification and testing related to avionics functions.
- Knowledge of how avionic systems integrate and interact with the entire aircraft.
- Knowledge of industry standards DO-178, DO-160, and ARP4754.
