About the Role
The intern will assist the Maintenance and Engineering team by conducting a comprehensive evaluation of spare parts across equipment and facilities, including data collection, classification, criticality assessment, inventory optimization, and documentation updates. This position suits an engineering student interested in maintenance operations, asset management, and reliability engineering.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate spare parts stock in the Container and shop to detect essential components, usage patterns, and potential improvements.
- Categorize spare parts by importance, equipment category, and maintenance approach.
- Assist engineers with reviewing bills of materials and updating equipment records.
- Detect outdated components and help propose replacements or removals.
- Create reports and visual dashboards presenting analysis results and suggested enhancements.
- Engage in initiatives focused on improving equipment uptime and spare parts availability through reliability and maintenance strategies.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a four-year undergraduate program pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering as a rising junior or senior, or currently accepted into or attending a Master’s or PhD program.
- Must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Excel, including Macros and pivot tables; experienced with Word and PowerPoint.
- High level of accuracy and organizational capability.
- Clear and effective communication skills in writing and speech.
