About the Role

HSP Group is seeking an Intermediate/Senior/Lead Business Systems Analyst to lead project teams and external vendors in delivering software solutions. This role involves deep collaboration with business units, developers, and trading partners to translate stakeholder needs into system requirements and testing artifacts within a structured technical environment.

What You'll Do

  • Provide leadership to project teams to lead external vendors on projects
  • Provide organizational leadership to project team members
  • Act as the technical leader for requirements, facilitating requirements and ensuring a quality on time delivery to the business customer
  • Facilitate the business analysis process to identify business requirements for system solutions or improved processes that will increase efficiency and overall productivity under minimal supervision
  • Work cohesively with developers, business units, external vendors, and other test team members
  • Coordinate test planning for various types of projects
  • Work on project teams developing or modifying moderately complex information systems
  • Analyze and document business and system requirements
  • Analyze business unit requests and understand business requirements
  • Work with technical staff to determine possible solutions and communicate business and system impacts to IT and Operations staff
  • Produce all artifacts and tasks in the Requirements and Testing disciplines of the Rational Unified Process (RUP), including Stakeholder Requests, current and future state models, Use Cases, Business Rules, User Interface requirements, Mapping documents, Supplementary Specifications and associated diagrams
  • Create Test Plans and test cases
  • Provide mentoring to fellow team members in areas including vendor management, artifact management, and related tools
  • Lead the business analysis and testing processes
  • Collaborate with project teams and external vendors in the delivery of software solutions for TCM Technology Services and trading partners
  • Translate stakeholder needs into system requirements
  • Provide leadership to other project team members and vendors developing or modifying complex information systems
  • Maintain positive working relationships between Annuity Services, Technology Services, and Trading Partners
  • Facilitate elicitation and documentation of business and functional requirements and Testing disciplines of RUP, including Stakeholder requests, current and future state models, Use Cases, Business Rules, User Interface requirements, Mapping documents, Supplementary Specifications and associated diagrams
  • Include Test Plans and test cases as part of documentation

What We're Looking For

  • Experience leading structured projects in a complex technical environment
  • Proven ability to lead external vendors
  • Ability to provide, receive, and act on critical feedback
  • Proven ability to work within a structured team environment and assist with successful delivery of projects
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience, preferably in IT or a business area discipline

Nice to Have

  • For Intermediate BSA: Minimum of 2-4 years experience in business analysis
  • For Intermediate BSA: 2-4 years of industry experience preferred
  • For Senior BA: Minimum of 5 or more years of experience in business systems analysis
  • For Senior BA: 2-4 years of industry experience also preferred
  • For Senior BA: Two years of experience managing technical projects in a complex environment
  • For Lead BA: Minimum of 8 or more years of experience in business systems analysis
  • For Lead BA: 2-4 years of industry experience also preferred
  • For Lead BA: Two years of experience managing technical projects in a complex environment

Work Mode

This position is onsite and requires presence at one of the following locations: Cedar Rapids, IA; Plano, TX; Baltimore, MD; St. Petersburg, FL. No remote or virtual work option is available.
