About the Role
The Intake Specialist will serve as the first point of contact for patients, guiding them through the onboarding process and ensuring all necessary information is collected accurately and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial screenings with new patients to gather medical and personal information
- Verify insurance details and eligibility for services
- Enter and maintain accurate patient records in the database
- Communicate clearly with patients to explain next steps in the process
- Respond promptly to patient inquiries via phone and email
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless care coordination
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in patient-submitted forms
- Ensure compliance with privacy and data protection standards
- Follow up with patients who have incomplete documentation
- Maintain a high level of empathy and professionalism in all interactions
- Track and report intake metrics on a regular basis
- Escalate complex cases to appropriate care team members
- Provide feedback to improve the intake workflow
- Stay updated on changes to policies and procedures
- Support the team during peak enrollment periods
Nice to Have
- Bilingual communication skills, especially in Spanish
- Prior experience in mental or behavioral health services
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with telehealth platforms
- Certification in healthcare administration or related field
