Position OverviewAs an Intake Coordinator, you will lead case management operations for refugees and qualified immigrants, guiding both clients and staff through the resettlement process. You will supervise a team of caseworkers, ensuring services are delivered with cultural sensitivity and in alignment with organizational and donor standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage pre-arrival preparations, including coordination with U.S.-based contacts and internal departments to ensure smooth client onboarding.
- Assign cases to caseworkers and monitor timely delivery of core services such as airport pickups, housing assessments, school enrollment, and benefit access.
- Oversee case file integrity, develop documentation procedures, and support staff training to maintain compliance and consistency.
- Track client progress, adjust service plans as needed, and ensure all mandated support is provided.
- Build relationships with community partners to expand local resources available to clients.
- Supervise daily operations of caseworkers, including task delegation, performance evaluation, and professional coaching.
- Support a respectful, inclusive team culture and collaborate with leadership to address challenges.
- Ensure all team activities comply with agency policies, federal guidelines, and state requirements, including fingerprint clearance in Arizona.
- Train and supervise volunteers and interns as needed to support program goals.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field, along with at least three years of experience in social services case management. Proficiency in English, strong organizational abilities, and demonstrated success in multicultural settings are essential. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required due to regular fieldwork.
Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, prior work with vulnerable populations, and bilingual skills in languages such as Spanish, Dari, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Arabic, or French.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), internet navigation, and digital tools for data entry, research, and problem-solving is required.
Work Environment
This hybrid role includes time in a standard office setting, remote work, and field visits across the service area. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be necessary.
