Altru Health System is looking for an Insurance Verification Specialist to ensure financial clearance through accurate and timely verification of patient insurance and benefit information. In this role, you will be a key part of a team dedicated to excellence and support, serving as a point of contact for resolving insurance-related questions.

What You'll Do

Ensure strict confidentiality when handling patient charts, records, and registration information.
Utilize online systems and phone communication to determine eligibility and benefits prior to the date of service.
Accurately identify and assign payer plans in the electronic medical record.
Review Medicare accounts for completed and accurate Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaires (MSPQ).
Communicate with patients, clinicians, front-end staff, and translators to obtain necessary or missing insurance information.
Coordinate benefits by effectively determining primary and secondary liability.
Alert physician offices and patients to issues with verifying insurance or meeting referral requirements.
Maintain a proficient understanding of insurance terminology.
Assist in training new insurance verification and front-end staff on processes.
