About the Role
This position involves the development and execution of control system designs for industrial facilities, supporting project goals through accurate documentation, system integration, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Design instrumentation and control systems for industrial projects
- Develop detailed schematics, loop diagrams, and control narratives
- Specify and select sensors, actuators, and control devices
- Perform system calculations for signal transmission and power requirements
- Create control system layouts and panel designs
- Collaborate with process and mechanical engineers on system integration
- Support the development of control logic and sequence of operations
- Review vendor submittals for compliance with design standards
- Ensure designs meet applicable codes and client specifications
- Assist in the creation of project specifications and technical documentation
- Conduct field verification and site surveys as needed
- Participate in design reviews and client meetings
- Troubleshoot control system issues during construction or commissioning
- Provide support during system startup and testing phases
- Maintain design documentation and as-built records
Nice to Have
- Experience in water, wastewater, or industrial process industries
- Knowledge of SCADA systems and remote monitoring
- Familiarity with control panel fabrication standards
- Project execution experience from design through commissioning
- Exposure to cybersecurity practices for control systems
