Red Rocks Community College is hiring an Instructor for the Rocky Mountain Education Center within its Department of Workforce Services. In this role, you will provide non-credit instruction in your field of expertise, including teaching, assessment, course preparation, and some instructional design. Instructional delivery includes face-to-face, hybrid, and online classes held across days, evenings, and weekends.
What You'll Do
- Meet all class periods, starting and ending classes promptly.
- Teach assigned curriculum using required texts and materials.
- Provide students with a complete syllabus or outline before the first class.
- Collect sign-in sheets and provide student attendance data promptly.
- Use technology to facilitate learning, including meeting minimum standards for the College's learning management system, Desire2Learn (D2L).
- Provide leadership and communication to corporate clients during off-site trainings.
- Maintain updated grading records and submit all final grades by the due date.
- Provide consistent and timely feedback to students regarding progress and grades.
- Prepare for each class meeting and consider active learning strategies for diverse learning styles.
- Respond to students and RRCC staff within 24-48 hours during the class term and for at least one week after grades are submitted.
- Attend department staff meetings throughout the semester as scheduled.
- Provide updates to the Dean or Training Coordinator.
What We're Looking For
- A degree or relevant industry certification from an accredited institution, or in a closely related field. Full-time professional industry experience directly related to the position duties may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
- A minimum of five (5) years of industry-related experience.
- Ability to work from campus, primarily the Lakewood campus with occasional hours at the Arvada campus.
- Demonstrated ability to work with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds and typically underrepresented groups.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to teach students using traditional and alternative methods of instruction.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate technology into the classroom where appropriate.
- Knowledge of computer applications.
- Interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of instructional objectives and course development techniques.
- Skills with managing, preparing, and delivering courses in the classroom and in the field.
- Ability to give and receive oral and written instructions and procedures.
- Some knowledge of working with D2L or a similar LMS.
Nice to Have
- A degree from an accredited institution in the field of instruction.
- Relevant and current industry certification.
- Five (5) years of industry-related experience.

This position reports directly to the Director.
Work Mode
This is an onsite role based primarily at the Lakewood campus, with occasional work required at the Arvada campus.
