Baylor College of Medicine is hiring an Instructor Nurse Practitioner to join the clinical operations team within the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at the Ben Taub location. In this role, you will support care for established patients who have been seen by a physician in either a hospital or outpatient clinic setting.
What You'll Do
- Obtain detailed patient histories and perform physical examinations, working closely with Ben Taub physicians on treatment plans, follow-up, and medication management.
- Prescribe appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments to follow outlined care plans.
- Maintain records, write orders, and document progress notes in patient charts regarding status, treatments, and procedures.
- Perform medical record reviews, follow developed protocols, determine appropriate patient scheduling, and assist with monitoring diagnostic results and patient care progress.
- Assess patient and family learning needs and educate them as appropriate concerning disease management.
- Coordinate referrals to other specialists, radiological, endoscopic, and laboratory testing with patients and referring physicians.
- Support clinical research and trials in close collaboration with Ben Taub physicians.
What We're Looking For
- Master’s degree in Nursing.
- Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State of Texas Board of Nursing.
- Current Texas Licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN-NP), and specialty certification as required by the department.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

- Ability to work well independently and collaboratively in the healthcare setting.

You will join the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology’s clinical operations team at the Ben Taub Location, reporting to Dr. Robert Jay Sealock.
Work Mode
This position requires onsite work at the Ben Taub Location.
