Spartanburg Community College is seeking an Instructor, Cosmetology to join our academic team. In this role, you will teach a diverse student body using effective strategies to prepare them for their careers, while actively supporting the mission of the College.
What You'll Do
- Teach Cosmetology courses using effective teaching strategies; teaching may be on any campus, or by distance learning, and may be days, nights, weekends, or a combination.
- Develop, revise, and maintain course materials; recommend and design new programs.
- Maintain office hours and participate in appropriate professional development opportunities.
- Participate in College and community activities to promote the mission of the College.
- Develop and implement retention strategies; assist in graduate placement; attend the graduation ceremony.
- Assist with student advising and registration.
- Serve on College committees and promote institutional goals.
- Assist the department chair with administrative responsibilities.
What We're Looking For
- National-Interstate Council of State Boards of Cosmetology Instructor certification.
- Three or more years of experience working as a Cosmetologist or Cosmetology Instructor.
Nice to Have
- Experience with teaching.
- Previous work experience as a cosmetology instructor.
Work Mode
This is an onsite position. Work may be required at any campus of Spartanburg Community College.
