Wake Technical Community College seeks a Psychology Instructor to join its faculty. This full-time, nine-month position is responsible for providing effective instruction in Psychology courses, with an anticipated start date for the Fall Semester 2026.
What You'll Do
- Instruct and guide assigned classes in an efficient and effective manner
- Maintain accurate records of student work and attendance
- Prepare thoroughly for each instructional hour
- Maintain a safe and orderly learning environment
- Assess student work, provide feedback, and return assignments promptly
- Keep students informed of their grades and progress
- Create accessible course content that meets college guidelines
- Construct classroom materials supporting course goals
- Design curriculum and a schedule of instruction
- Maintain regular office hours
- Stay current with modern teaching methods and classroom technology
- Use assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching
- Serve on college or departmental committees as needed
- Attend professional development opportunities
- Assist in establishing course goals, selecting texts, and constructing syllabi
- Maintain communication with instructors from other divisions to keep courses up-to-date
- Participate in graduation exercises
What We're Looking For
- A Master's degree in Psychology OR a Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Psychology
- Unofficial college transcripts uploaded with your application or submitted to HR prior to an interview
Nice to Have
- A background in Community College teaching
- Teaching experience in Developmental Psychology and Interpersonal Psychology or General Psychology
- Experience with online teaching
