The Cigna Group is looking for an Inpatient Telepharmacist to join Evernorth. In this remote role, you will serve multiple hospitals across multiple states using technology to maximize the cognitive contributions of clinical pharmacists to quality patient care. You will review and approve medication orders, conduct clinical interventions, and document actions in accordance with policies.
What You'll Do
- Serve multiple hospitals using telepharmacy technology.
- Review and approve medication orders.
- Conduct clinical interventions as appropriate.
- Document all actions per company and client policies.
- Provide telepharmacy services including remote order entry, verification, drug verification, and counseling.
- Learn multiple pharmacy information systems (PIS).
- Obtain and maintain multiple state pharmacist licenses.
- Provide drug information and clinical therapeutic recommendations to clients.
- Counsel patients, nurses, and medical staff on proper medication use.
- Investigate and resolve medication variances.
- Maintain accurate records and document all orders and interactions.
- Provide preliminary technological troubleshooting.
- Work with VPNs, various PIS, automation systems, and basic computer programs.
- Coordinate with Regional Trainer to complete new hire and new client training.
- Participate in ongoing training.
- Strive to achieve company productivity metrics.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Pharmacy (B.S Pharmacy or Pharm.D.)
- Valid Pharmacist license issued by the governing State Board of Pharmacy
- Willingness to obtain multiple state licenses (including but not limited to CO, MT, NM, NV, WY)
- Work performed in a home office setting - high speed internet service required (cable or fiber; satellite/DSL not supported)
- A working knowledge of formulary policies, pharmacy and therapeutics policy and procedures
- Effective communications skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Working knowledge of client/server applications
- Proficiency with office technology tools: MS Office, Google Drive, internet, and email
Nice to Have
- 2+ years’ experience in a hospital inpatient setting
- Demonstrated ability to manage a team
