Fives Stein (Steel & Glass Division) is looking for an Ingénieur Automaticien to join the Bureau d'Etudes Automatismes. Reporting to the Responsable BEA, you will be responsible for the design and supervision of automation studies for new and existing machines, ensuring the programming of equipment and participating in their commissioning.
What You'll Do
- Define the architecture of complex automated systems in pre-project phases to respond to calls for tender.
- Participate in the selection of components (sensors, PLCs, HMIs, drives, etc.).
- Analyze all input data at the start of a project.
- Validate electrical studies in collaboration with the Electrical Study Engineer.
- Occasionally perform electrical studies.
- Conduct the automation study (hardware architecture, functional analysis...).
- Participate in design reviews and the creation of functional specs.
- Develop programs for PLCs / CNCs / robots, HMIs, and define cycles.
- Deploy industrial networks (Ethernet, Profinet, Profibus, Modbus...).
- Develop supervision tools per client requests.
- Propose and implement improvement actions or standards.
- Implement a test platform.
- Develop data historization tools.
- Develop standard subroutines to reduce development time.
- Conduct technology watch and participate in R&D projects.
- Ensure reporting for your scope.
- Be the guarantor of the budget allocated to your scope.
- Be a primary support for project Commissioning.
- Perform commissioning in our workshops on certain components/projects/functions.
What We're Looking For
- Mechanical Engineering degree with a specialization in automation.
- First significant experience in the industrial sector within a design office.
- Technical skills in industrial IT, electronics, automation, and electrical systems.
- Technical skills in CNC (SIEMENS, NUM, FANUC, HEIDENHAIN).
- Technical skills in PLC programming (SIEMENS, BECKHOFF, SCHNEIDER, ROCKWELL).
- Skills in networks (Profinet, Ethernet, Ethercat...).
- Skills in HMI: Siemens (Wincc Unified), Proface.
- General knowledge of: Connected systems, Variable speed drives, Safety systems, Cybersecurity awareness.
- Knowledge of machine tools.
- Proficiency with IT tools (Office suite, TeamCenter, ERP).
- Fluency in English.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Organized, with an analytical and methodical mindset.
- Service-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
