Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable solutions for managing databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, and others, both in virtualized environments and Kubernetes clusters.
- Collaborate with engineering to identify and resolve pain points in managing large-scale, high-availability database infrastructure.
- Lead the migration of existing database services from VMs to Kubernetes, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless transitions.
- Support disaster recovery, backup strategies, and performance tuning for on-premise database systems.
- Implement and manage observability, logging, and alerting systems.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience in infrastructure operations, especially in Linux-based systems.
- Expertise in at least one deployment and orchestration technology (Kubernetes, Ansible, or Terraform), with a focus on deploying and managing stateful applications.
- Skills in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or similar, to automate workflows and manage infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience managing at least one relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL.
Nice to Have
- Experience with non-relational databases such as Cassandra, OpenSearch, or other distributed data stores.
- Familiarity with streaming and messaging platforms like Kafka or RabbitMQ, including scaling and monitoring in a distributed setup.
- Proficiency in observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or others to ensure system performance and reliability.
- Knowledge of service discovery tools like Consul, or similar technologies, would be a great advantage.
