General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is hiring an Information Technology Support Specialist with an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph to join our team. In this on-site role in Annapolis Junction, MD, you will serve as a Help Desk Technician IV, providing enterprise-level IT support and collaborating with a driven team to resolve technical issues and guide users.
What You'll Do
- Respond to user inquiries via phone, email, chat, or ticketing systems.
- Log, track, and provide updates on support requests using a help desk ticketing system.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Install, configure, and update software on user devices.
- Assist with password resets, account lockouts, and access issues.
- Support basic printer, scanner, and peripheral troubleshooting.
- Provide step-by-step guidance to users for troubleshooting common problems.
- Escalate complex issues to second-level support or specialized teams.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced professionals.
- Help maintain inventory of IT assets like laptops, monitors, and accessories.
- Document and report solutions and procedures for recurring issues.
- Contribute to knowledge base articles for fellow co-workers and users.
- Maintain a professional and empathetic tone with users and co-workers.
- Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
- Actively participate in a team environment assisting co-workers when needed.
- Ensure adherence to all IT and departmental policies and procedures.
- Report potential security incidents or breaches to appropriate teams.
What We're Looking For
- Associates of Arts/Associates of Science degree
- 5+ years of related IT support experience
- Ability to install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software using remote access tools
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
- US Citizenship is required
- 8570 certification is required within 3 months of start date
