Becton Dickinson (BD) was looking for an Automation Service Technician - Louisville, Kentucky

BD is looking for an Automation Service Technician to provide expert technical support and build strong relationships with our customers. You will be the primary on-site resource for BD Lab Automation customers, responsible for installation, maintenance, and service to help them achieve their operational goals.

What You'll Do

  • Provide on-site support for the installation and service of sophisticated diagnostic laboratory automation instrumentation with minimal direct supervision.
  • Respond to emergency customer requests via dispatch and complete work in accordance with current ISO and GMP standards.
  • Diagnose hardware and software issues, resolve corrective actions, and complete system repairs using analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Upgrade systems to enable compatible software on all computers.
  • Play an active role in maintaining and implementing service documentation to improve efficiency.
  • Complete required service documentation in accordance with current GMP requirements.
  • Manage trunk stock inventory within established limits.

What We're Looking For

  • An Associate Degree in a technical field, with 3-5 years of Electrical, Electronics, Informatics, Mechatronics, or Biomedical experience.
  • A strong proven understanding of electronics, electro-mechanical devices (Mechatronics), PLCs, and pneumatics.
  • An understanding of basic computer security concepts and standard practices.
  • Proficiency in performing software installations and upgrades.
  • A valid state-issued driver's license with at least 3 years of driving history and the ability to meet BD's auto safety standards.
  • The ability to work flexible hours throughout the work week and travel to various US customer locations.
  • Availability to be on call as needed and flexibility to meet business needs.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 50% of the time outside the home geographic area.

This is an onsite position based in Louisville, Kentucky.
