What You'll Do
Perform on-site inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on electric overhead traveling cranes and hoists. Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, structural, and electronic system issues using technical expertise. Conduct post-repair evaluations to verify safety mechanisms are fully operational.
Deliver on-call support as part of a rotating schedule, including after-hours response when needed. Generate electronic service records using internal tools and secure customer approvals. Submit accurate and timely reports, ensuring all documentation meets company and regulatory standards.
Engage directly with customers to discuss repair findings, safety concerns, and opportunities for improving material handling operations. Maintain compliance with safety protocols, including adherence to OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, and HMI standards. Attend monthly safety meetings and follow all site-specific safety requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in electrical and mechanical systems, particularly with 480 3-phase motors
- Comfort working at significant elevations and in industrial environments
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex crane system issues
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for client interaction
- Commitment to maintaining a safety-first approach in all tasks
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support
- Experience with electronic documentation systems and service reporting
- Ability to follow safety procedures set by both the company and customer sites
- Reliable communication with field supervisors and coordination teams
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in proper condition
Technical Environment
Work involves 480 3-phase motors, electric overhead traveling cranes, hoists, and digital documentation platforms. Technicians must stay current with evolving industry standards and apply them in real-world settings.
Work Mode
This is a locally based position in Winchester, VA, requiring regular travel to customer locations across the United States. Technicians will operate company vehicles and must be available for on-site assignments, including off-hours support as scheduled.
