Solar Alternatives is hiring an In Home Sales consultant to drive the adoption of solar, energy savings, and backup power solutions. You will be a one-call closer for residential and commercial clients across the South Louisiana regional market, strengthening communities through comprehensive energy savings. This is primarily a home office based position with local in-person and remote statewide appointments.
What You'll Do
- Conduct in-home and in-business sales presentations for residential solar, energy savings, and backup power solutions.
- Generate custom proposals and organize all documents necessary for presentation and closing.
- Generate new leads through networking, database management, event participation, and relationship building.
- Close deals and sign contracts directly with home and business owners.
- Efficiently plan your schedule, set goals, and work unsupervised.
- Use company-provided screening procedures to qualify prospects.
- Pursue individual and team sales targets.
- Attend meetings, marketing events, and training programs to stay informed of technology trends.
- File sales reports and provide market feedback to your team leader.
What We're Looking For

- 3 years of sales experience, including one-call closing.
- Proficiency in business software: Microsoft Office Suite, Dropbox, Slack.
- Proficiency in standard internet tools and etiquette: email, cloud services, search.
- Articulate and professional English writing and speech.
- Willingness and ability to initiate marketing and self-generate a portion of prospects.
- Reliable transportation, a valid license, and a clean driving record.
- Willingness to work occasional weekends as needed for marketing events.
Nice to Have
- Bilingual ability is a plus.
- Experience with CRM and Salesforce.com.
- Home improvement, auto sales, or in-home sales experience.
