Catawba Valley Community College is hiring an IDMS Educational Systems & LMS Specialist to perform technical and functional duties for our document imaging, educational technology, and institutional data systems. In this mid-level role, you will serve as the functional lead for the College's Learning Management System, video streaming platform, and other key academic systems, ensuring their reliability, usability, and compliance.
What You'll Do
- Perform curriculum and continuing education course creation, updates, and schedule development within the Student Information System.
- Collaborate on SIS course setup workflows, term rollovers, integration testing, and process improvements.
- Develop and maintain document imaging workflows and manage priorities for assigned systems.
- Administer, configure, and maintain the Learning Management System, including course provisioning, integrations, user roles, and data synchronization.
- Evaluate, test, and implement LMS updates, enhancements, and third-party integrations.
- Monitor system performance and provide strategic recommendations for LMS optimization and faculty adoption.
- Design, develop, and deliver faculty training and documentation related to LMS features.
- Lead and support major LMS platform transitions, upgrades, and enterprise implementations.
- Administer the Panopto video streaming platform, managing integrations, user access, and folder structures.
- Provide consultation and training to faculty on recording, editing, publishing, and accessibility best practices.
- Administer the student course evaluation system, including term setup, survey deployment, and reporting.
- Develop, maintain, and refine automated reporting models and visual dashboards for the LMS data platform.
- Administer and support Informer reporting and the College’s technology knowledgebase platform.
- Provide technical assistance, advanced troubleshooting, and support for ERP, LMS, and document imaging users.
- Respond to Help Desk requests and collaborate on new system implementations and institutional technology initiatives.
- Stay current with trends in Learning Management Systems, analytics platforms, and instructional technologies.

Team & Environment
This is a mid-level position within the Integration and Data Management Solutions (IDMS) department. You will work in close collaboration with the Executive Director of Technology & Innovation and collaborate with IDMS team members on enterprise initiatives. You will receive general supervision from the Director of Integration and Data Management Solutions (IDMS).
Work Mode
This is an onsite position.
