Becton Dickinson (BD) is looking for a Hypo Quality Control Representative for the 1st Shift. In this role, you will perform inspections, audits, and holds to ensure manufacturing operations meet stringent quality and product requirements. You will play a key part in maintaining compliance with BD quality systems, policies, and all safety regulations.

What You'll Do

  • Perform first piece inspections, line audits, non-conforming product holds, and statistical sampling.
  • Provide guidance and input to manufacturing and management on quality issues.
  • Aide in training associates to meet quality systems and product requirements.
  • Support C2C compliance activities for the department and self.
  • Support product complaint investigations and corrective actions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities like Kaizens, blitzes, and validations.
  • Trend quality metrics and investigate problem areas to provide corrective action.
  • Apply and interpret ANSI Z1.4 and other sampling plans.
  • Conduct line audits to assure compliance to the quality system.
  • Develop and assist in creating visual instructions.
  • Conduct proper filing of documentation and react to urgent matters.
  • Comply with plant CGMP, safety, and management policies.
  • Prepare and control Master Defects for production lines.
  • Assist in validation processes and conduct machine and process capability studies.
  • Assist and support team and departmental plant needs and goals.
  • Communicate daily with prior and post shift Quality Control Representatives.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Create and update Quality Notifications in SAP.
  • Create Certificates in SAP.
  • Release products for sale in SAP.
  • Create Global Holds in SAP.
  • Perform first piece inspection of molded parts with the smartscope and optical comparator.

What We're Looking For

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Regular, punctual attendance
  • Ability to read, write, and converse in English
  • Willingness and ability to uphold BD Values

Nice to Have

  • Associate's degree
  • Previous experience with product and process specifications
  • Good working knowledge of product and manufacturing processes with ability to interpret drawings
  • Knowledge in the fundamentals of quality processes and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Familiarity with process control tools and inspection equipment like the Comparator, Smart-Scope, and Instron
  • Fundamentals of Quality System Regulations (QSR) and International Standards of Operation (ISO) regulations
  • Six Sigma knowledge
