APAC Mississippi, Inc., a CRH company, is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to support a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment. This collaborative role provides exceptional administrative support to the HR team and business leaders, handling day-to-day HR tasks, onboarding, records retention, and employee inquiries.
What You'll Do
- Serve as a first point of contact for employees and managers, providing leadership, coaching and support for individual needs and HR processes
- Deliver customer service by answering questions on policies and procedures and assisting in confidential personal matters
- Maintain personnel files in accordance with federal, state, and company regulations
- Coordinate and lead new hire onboarding, including employment verifications and benefits orientation across all sites
- Coordinate unemployment claims and benefits communication with third-party services and payroll teams
- Run reports from the HRIS system weekly and monthly for the HR Manager and leadership team
- Enter employee status changes, including new hires, terminations, and job changes, into UKG HRIS
- Organize new hire and leaver surveys, providing the HR Manager with analytical trends
- Process changes in employee benefits
- Assist with planning and supporting employee engagement initiatives as outlined by the Culture Committee
- Work with leaders and employees to create a positive, contemporary work environment that respects every employee
- Partner effectively with our HR Centers of Excellence
- Promote a diverse and inclusive environment
- Update communication boards and post flyers, keeping current with local and federal regulations
- Identify areas to improve processes, efficiency, and organization
- Support the HR team on various projects and initiatives throughout the year
What We're Looking For
- High School degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 2+ years of experience in Office Administration or an HR Administration / Coordinator role
- Knowledge of employment practices, policies, and procedures
- Strong administrative, organizational, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task by planning effectively and prioritizing your own workload
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to assess situations and make judgments based on practice or experience
- Ability to work with a high degree of confidentiality
- Ability to work in changing environments, see through complexity, and promote an inclusive workforce
- Analytical mindset & digital capability, including proficiency with an HRIS, Microsoft 365, and HR data analytics tools
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment supporting multiple functions
- Spanish speaking skills
