About the Role

Senior Success Coach is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to provide essential coordination and support for the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD). You will manage the full recruitment lifecycle, oversee onboarding and offboarding, and administer key personnel actions to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely HR operations.

What You'll Do

  • Manage all faculty and staff recruitment and hiring actions in PageUp.
  • Act as search committee coordinator for instructional faculty positions.
  • Oversee all position description updates and edits within the PageUp system.
  • Ensure search committees complete required trainings and close searches according to university policy.
  • Manage the CEHD HR portal for onboarding on the college intranet.
  • Handle all college-level onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Arrange exit interviews for all exiting employees.
  • Manage all phases of hiring for graduate assistantships (GRAs, GTAs, GPAs).
  • Generate offer letters for appointments and scholarships.
  • Onboard new employees, ensuring completion of I-9 and other required documentation.
  • Perform eligibility checks, status changes, renewals, and other transitions.
  • Ensure all hires complete necessary training.
  • Maintain control of documentation flows from contract generation through signature and return.
  • Maintain electronic files and copy documentation as required.
  • Prepare semester-end reports showing final salary and tuition waiver expenses.
  • Generate ad-hoc reports for the Director of HR and Executive Director of Research and Business Operations.
  • Work with faculty and staff to ensure a smooth recruitment process.
  • Manage hiring phases for wage employees on E&G funds and sponsored programs.
  • Review and route EPAF requests for approval within CEHD.
  • Generate offer letters when requested.
  • Provide back-up support for adjunct hiring processes.
  • Review all adjuncts for compliance before contract generation.
  • Submit Electronic Personnel Action Forms (EPAFs) and HR Transaction Forms for approval.
  • Approve timesheets on behalf of the Dean for 12-month instructional faculty.
  • Create renewal contracts for review and approval.
  • Serve as an HR Liaison for CEHD.
  • Manage staff professional development requests and college-level recognition programs.
  • Execute special projects as assigned by college leadership.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Professional experience in human resources, administrative operations, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment managing multiple tasks.
  • Experience interpreting and applying policies, procedures, and employment regulations.
  • Experience providing customer service to a diverse population.
  • Experience maintaining confidential personnel information with discretion.
  • General knowledge of recruitment, onboarding, hiring documentation, and personnel action workflows.
  • Understanding of confidentiality standards, FLSA, and general HR regulatory practices.
  • Knowledge of digital record-keeping best practices.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and Word.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to convey HR processes clearly and professionally.
  • Ability to manage high-volume work with competing deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret policies and apply them to practical HR decisions.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Human resources experience within a higher education environment.
  • Experience administering complex HR processes like recruitment coordination or contract preparation.
  • Knowledge of academic hiring processes and graduate assistant administration.
  • Knowledge of GMU-specific systems like PageUp, EPAF workflows, or Dynamic Forms.
  • Advanced Excel skills for preparing reports and tracking spreadsheets.
  • Process improvement skills for streamlining HR workflows.

Team & Environment

You will report to the Director of HR and work closely with them, college units, the PhD Office Director, the Executive Director of Research and Business Operations, and the research and finance teams.
