About the Role

Pennsylvania State University is hiring a Housing & Food Services Manager for its Harrisburg campus. This role administers and oversees residential and retail food service operations, with the primary goal of providing a safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained living and working environment for students, families, and staff.

What You'll Do

  • Administer and oversee residential and retail food services and housing facility operations at specific campus locations.
  • Act as a liaison between Housing/Foods, University departments, and external customers and vendors.
  • Provide a safe and secure residential and working environment; ensure compliance with safety standards, food quality control, and regulations; report and correct deficiencies.
  • Prepare for and respond to critical incidents.
  • Execute environmental stewardship; project, schedule, and oversee equipment and facility maintenance; participate in renovation projects; recommend equipment purchases.
  • Consult with contractors, architects, and facility planners as directed.
  • Under management guidance, research, develop, market, and implement new products, menus, recipes, concepts, and process improvements.
  • Maintain supply, key, and equipment inventory; place orders, negotiate prices, make purchases; resolve quality and quantity disputes.
  • Review and analyze budgetary items; identify and propose business growth and cost containment opportunities.
  • Create a student-centered work environment through residential community involvement; engage with students, groups, athletics, leadership, parents, and conference attendees.
  • Hire, train, coach, schedule, supervise, and evaluate assigned employees; communicate and enforce standards.
  • Follow Collective Bargaining Agreement provisions; participate in grievance procedures, hearings, and arbitrations as required.
  • Participate in departmental and University-wide initiatives and committees; complete special projects and reports.
  • May validate and pay invoices, monitor and track budgets, and assist in planning and forecasting.
  • Apply general precedents and specialized knowledge to resolve problems; understand the impact of potential solutions.
  • Anticipate potential problems and recommend possible solutions within guidelines.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Salary range: $51,000.00 - $74,000.00.
