Pennsylvania State University is hiring a Housing & Food Services Manager for its Harrisburg campus. This role administers and oversees residential and retail food service operations, with the primary goal of providing a safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained living and working environment for students, families, and staff.

What You'll Do

Administer and oversee residential and retail food services and housing facility operations at specific campus locations.
Act as a liaison between Housing/Foods, University departments, and external customers and vendors.
Provide a safe and secure residential and working environment; ensure compliance with safety standards, food quality control, and regulations; report and correct deficiencies.
Prepare for and respond to critical incidents.
Execute environmental stewardship; project, schedule, and oversee equipment and facility maintenance; participate in renovation projects; recommend equipment purchases.
Consult with contractors, architects, and facility planners as directed.
Under management guidance, research, develop, market, and implement new products, menus, recipes, concepts, and process improvements.
Maintain supply, key, and equipment inventory; place orders, negotiate prices, make purchases; resolve quality and quantity disputes.
Review and analyze budgetary items; identify and propose business growth and cost containment opportunities.
Create a student-centered work environment through residential community involvement; engage with students, groups, athletics, leadership, parents, and conference attendees.
Hire, train, coach, schedule, supervise, and evaluate assigned employees; communicate and enforce standards.
Follow Collective Bargaining Agreement provisions; participate in grievance procedures, hearings, and arbitrations as required.
Participate in departmental and University-wide initiatives and committees; complete special projects and reports.
May validate and pay invoices, monitor and track budgets, and assist in planning and forecasting.
Apply general precedents and specialized knowledge to resolve problems; understand the impact of potential solutions.
Anticipate potential problems and recommend possible solutions within guidelines.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's Degree.
6+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check.
Authorization to work in the United States.

Salary range: $51,000.00 - $74,000.00.
