Unknown Company is hiring a High School Special Education Teacher

Missouri Virtual Academy (MOVA), a Stride K12 partner school, is hiring a High School Special Education Teacher. This state-certified role is responsible for delivering course content and managing the learning process in an online environment, focusing on the individual needs defined by each student's IEP.

What You'll Do

• Ensure all special education and related services are provided as determined by the IEP team.
• Communicate with parents and related service staff to ensure students receive appropriate therapies.
• Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and other required state special education documentation.
• Facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings such as annual IEP reviews.
• Use provided resources to implement accommodations and modifications for students with disabilities.
• Modify and adapt Stride K12 lessons and assessments as specified by the IEP.
• Ensure the inclusion and success of students in the general education classroom.
• Collect data and work samples to monitor student progress toward IEP goals.
• Document all contact with parents and interventions with students.
• Analyze student data to prescribe targeted remediation and enrichment.
• Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
• Maintain an accurate grade book, make promotion decisions, and alert administrators to concerns.
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests.
• Establish positive rapport with families and respond to students and learning coaches regularly.
• Support learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic technical troubleshooting.
• Travel up to 20% of the time for professional development, testing, and school requirements.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree.
• Active state teaching license.
• Missouri Special Education Teaching Certification.
• Ability to clear a required background check.
• Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week.
• Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during the workday.
• Ability to work collaboratively to interpret student data and drive instructional decisions.
• Receptive to receiving regular coaching from administrators.
• Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with the proposed high school age group.
• Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology.
• Experience teaching online and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment.
• Experience with an online learning platform.
