About the Role

International SOS Government Medical Services seeks a Health Service Administrator to provide oversight of the day-to-day operations of the Health Services Department. You will manage and direct a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals responsible for delivering comprehensive medical, dental, and allied health services.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the healthcare services mission within the facility.
  • Ensure the organization and delivery of health care maintains compliance with all applicable policies, accreditation standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Director and Nurse Manager to establish processes ensuring provision of consistent high-quality standards of care.
  • Maintain collaborative working relationships with client and outside agencies.
  • Perform supervisory responsibilities including training and mentoring of the Assistant Health Services Administrator and Facility Healthcare Program Manager.
  • Initiate and develop schedule for accomplishing the health care mission.
  • Discuss program plans with assigned providers and ancillary staff.
  • Monitor the annual budget for inside and outside medical services.
  • Plan and coordinate purchases and contracts for supplies, equipment, specialty care or ancillary services.
  • Maintain par inventory levels.
  • Assist the Regional HSA to implement the Bureau’s re-entry initiates assessment data entry and evaluation of health status.
  • Organize training for medical personnel within guidelines of BOP, ACA, and individual medical program standards.
  • Assist in maintaining security of the institution.
  • Provide administrative supervision to government employees, managing personnel issues.
  • Employ high level judgment, analysis and decision-making skills when delegating tasks.
  • Complete required organizational compliance education for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

What We're Looking For

  • Three years of leadership background and two years management of programs and services experience.
  • Management ability to delegate authority, evaluate and oversee people and programs, recognize and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of the interrelationships and interdependencies among various medical and administrative services and programs.
  • CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) certified through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
  • Trained in Basic First Aid.
  • At least two years of general experience demonstrating ability to greet and deal tactfully with the public, understand and apply orders/rules/regulations, and maintain poise under stress.
  • Master’s degree in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields OR progressively responsible analytical/administrative/clinical management/supervisory experience in health care.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must maintain current/physical residency in the continental U.S.
  • Pass a medical examination conducted by a licensed physician within 30 days prior to initial assignment.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or a person lawfully admitted into the U.S. for permanent residence.
  • Have resided in the U.S. for the last five years (unless abroad on official U.S. government duty).
  • Successfully engage in and complete a thorough Background Investigation.
  • Possess or have ability to obtain required security clearances.

Nice to Have

  • Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.

This role collaborates with the Clinical Director and Nurse Manager as part of the Triad of leadership.
