Fruitist is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead the global engineering function, architecting scalable systems to support our fast-growing international business. You will deliver next-generation software applications and data platforms, oversee technical delivery, and drive product innovation across core and emerging technologies.

What You'll Do

Own global architecture and infrastructure: design and manage scalable, secure infrastructure across AWS and Azure to support ERP, data platforms, analytics, and software applications.
Lead software engineering and DevOps, overseeing in-house product development (Python/JavaScript), DevOps practices, CI/CD automation, and system reliability.
Guide build vs. buy strategy for proprietary vs. third-party software with a focus on operational scalability and differentiation.
Establish governance, compliance, change management, vendor controls, and infrastructure governance to support global compliance and public-market readiness.
Provide robust infrastructure support for ML pipelines, real-time analytics, and yield prediction models in partnership with data and AI leadership.
Partner with IT and ERP leaders to ensure robust backend infrastructure that supports business operations across geographies.
Scale and lead a hybrid global engineering team, with direct management of DevOps, software engineers, and Peruvian application developers.
Manage a multimillion-dollar engineering budget to maximize ROI on technology investments.
Build systems that deliver consistent uptime, global performance, and enable rapid product iteration.

What We're Looking For

10+ years of engineering leadership experience, including as a Head of Engineering, VP, or equivalent at a fast-scaling, tech-forward business.
Strong track record building and managing global hybrid engineering teams (onshore and near/offshore).
Proven experience supporting international operations and infrastructure across 5+ countries.
Deep technical expertise in AWS (Athena, Redshift, Kinesis, S3, IAM, ECS).
Experience leading software development with Python backends and modern JavaScript frontends (React, Vue).
Demonstrated success driving infrastructure maturity, including DevOps, CI/CD, and scalable architecture.
Experience supporting analytics and machine learning environments (e.g., Databricks, MLOps).
Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems, especially in a distributed or hybrid cloud environment.
Has led engineering maturity initiatives in a pre-IPO or newly public company.

Nice to Have

Experience leading deployments in China.
Additional fluency in Azure or GCP.
