About the Role

Standard Chartered is hiring a Head of China Corporates TB Sales to lead business growth for our corporate coverage segment in Hong Kong. You will be responsible for delivering revenue targets, shaping the Transaction Banking sales strategy for China Corporate clients, and advising on the use of Hong Kong as a premier regional treasury centre.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and lead the end-to-end execution of the TB China Corporate Sales strategy for Hong Kong.
  • Drive growth by leading coverage of China Corporate clients and selected China Regional Treasury Centre names.
  • Individually manage a portfolio of selected strategic clients.
  • Advise clients on the strategic use of Hong Kong as a regional treasury centre.
  • Structure bespoke trade finance solutions to address specific client pain points.
  • Build full access to trade finance and cash management decision makers through active client engagement.
  • Develop and own TB Account Plan commitments for key clients.
  • Proactively lead TB opportunity origination and execution in collaboration with GTS and CIB coverage teams.
  • Lead corridor initiatives to grow key trade flow and global cash management opportunities.
  • Take complete ownership of client-level revenues for cash and trade products.
  • Contribute to decision-making for the execution of the country balance sheet growth strategy.
  • Actively manage business performance, identifying underperformance and taking corrective action.
  • Drive targeted returns on Risk-Weighted Assets (RWAs) deployed to franchise clients.
  • Develop strong partnerships with key business partners and stakeholders.
  • Supervise and role-model compliance with all TB Sales related policies and processes.
  • Ensure effective management of operational risks and compliance with internal policies and external laws.
  • Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Keep abreast of customer needs, market trends, and product intelligence.
  • Conduct marketing events to share and promote best practices.
  • Accountable for TB Corporate sales team capacity and capability development, including overseeing recruitment.
  • Provide effective leadership and timely feedback throughout the annual performance management cycle.
  • Responsible for proactive performance management of team members.
  • Lead the sales transformation journey towards goals under the Fit for Growth strategy.
  • Identify, develop, and retain Accelerate talent.
  • Identify, assess, monitor, control, and mitigate risks for the assigned segment.
  • Ensure adherence to all CFCC and local regulatory policies.
  • Contribute to discussions regarding significant market risks.
  • Raise awareness and understanding of main sales risks within the team.
  • Accountable for escalating issues from relevant management teams to Group governance committees.
  • Accountable for implementing the Group’s governance framework, oversight, and controls for the TB Corporate Sales business.
  • Understand the regulatory framework in which the Group operates.
  • Fulfil supervisory responsibilities in line with the Group’s Supervisory framework.
  • Agree on pricing and other local business and documentation parameters with the Coverage team.

What We're Looking For

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Banking, Economics, or Finance.
  • Over 15 years of Client Relationship Management, Transaction Banking sales, and sales leadership experience in an international or regional environment.
  • Strong understanding of the market competitive landscape in both Chinese Corporates and MNC segments.
  • A track record of managing regional clients with Corporate Treasury Centres in Hong Kong.
  • Solid product knowledge in Cash Management, Trade Finance, and Working Capital Management.
  • Skills and experience in digital transformation and risk management, including basic credit skills.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of financial markets products.

Team & Environment

You will be accountable for the TB Corporate sales team's capacity and capability development, including overseeing recruitment.
