The YMCA of Southwest Florida is hiring a Gymnastics Instructor to deliver engaging and safe gymnastics instruction under the guidance of the Gymnastics/Program Director. You will be responsible for lesson planning, teaching, and maintaining our gymnastics center.
What You'll Do
- Plan and teach daily gymnastics sessions
- Teach Saturday morning parent & tot and pre-gym classes
- Supervise open gym time
- Maintain the gymnastics center in a safe condition
- Report any safety issues to the director
- Perform pre-session and post-session cleaning and maintenance duties
- Attend scheduled staff meetings
- Execute a written report on any injuries or accidents that occur while on duty
- Supervise a birthday party according to established guidelines
- Arrive on time, dressed professionally and well-groomed each day
- Uphold all staff safety requirements including cleaning protocols throughout the day
- Perform other duties as assigned by your Supervisor
What We're Looking For
- Successful completion of State of Florida Criminal History Background Check requirements and adherence to the Association’s background screening policies
- Adherence to a drug, alcohol, and smoke-free workplace policy
- Enthusiasm for the sport of gymnastics and for working with children
- Understanding of liability and safety issues in a gym environment
- Knowledge and understanding of skills and progressions regarding gymnastics instruction
- Knowledge and understanding of YMCA of USA’s Gymnastics guidelines, policies, and recommendations
- Employment is contingent upon completing required Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
- Current CPR and First Aid Certifications
- Completion of YMCA Blood Borne Pathogens Training
- Completion of YMCA Child Sexual Abuse Prevention class
- Completion of Staff Safety Requirements/Cleaning Protocols training
- Completion of additional training classes as recommended by Supervisor
Team & Environment
This role reports directly to the Gymnastics/Program Director.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation starts at $10/hour for no experience
- Compensation starts at $12/hour for candidates with relevant experience

This is an onsite position.
