As a Group Lead for Fabrication-Weld, you will oversee the fabrication and welding of assigned product lines and delegate daily work assignments. This hands-on role at Briggs & Stratton involves ensuring high-quality, cost-effective production while directly contributing to the team's output as needed.
What You'll Do
- Oversee fabrication and welding processes to ensure high quality at low cost while meeting company standards.
- Perform quality checks, process audits, and verify the accuracy of component materials.
- Organize space, equipment, and personnel work assignments to execute the production schedule.
- Resolve routine department equipment and personnel problems related to attendance, performance, and safety.
- Operate, set up, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment.
- Train employees, assign and direct work, provide performance feedback, and address complaints.
What We're Looking For
- High School diploma or General Education Degree.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools.
- Ability to understand LEAN principles for continuous improvement.
- Fluent in English and the primary language used in the area of responsibility.
- Moderate physical demand; often lifting/moving 25 to 50 lbs, occasionally up to 70 lbs.
Nice to Have
- Previous manufacturing experience.
Benefits & Compensation
- Expected hourly wage is $26.00 per hour USD commensurate with experience.
