1016 Meijer Great Lakes LP is looking for a Grocery and Fresh Department Manager to lead team member engagement and area operations at our Royal Oak, MI location. As a leader in this family company that serves people and communities, you will be responsible for financials, safety, and process improvements within this critical department. You will serve as a steward of the Meijer culture while driving performance.

What You'll Do

Engage with team members to ensure appropriate onboarding, training, development, coaching, and feedback.
Identify talent and engage in career discussions to support store staffing and a diversified talent pipeline.
Hold candid discussions with team members to uphold Meijer standards and support their growth.
Be accountable for area operations and financial results by overseeing corporate plan execution to maximize sales and productivity.
Drive safety and compliance throughout the store and manage its overall condition.
Ensure Team Leaders and Leads provide guidance, assign daily work, and address training needs.
Direct Leads and Team Leaders.
Be accountable for shrink, productivity, safety, scheduling & forecasting staffing needs, and team member and customer conflict resolution.
Identify and implement process improvements.

What We're Looking For

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
A passion to provide industry leading service.
Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members in a way that provides clear and precise direction.
Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
Demonstrated ability to lead an organization that practices working safely at all times.
Demonstrates proactive/creative thinking and applies it to the business.
A thorough understanding of seasonal and diverse merchandising.

Nice to Have

Progressive leadership experience.
Experience leading teams in Produce, Meat, Deli, Baker, or Grocery.
