Responsibilities
- Act as the main liaison for grid-related issues across pre- and post-commissioning stages for utility-scale energy projects exceeding one gigawatt.
- Direct the integration strategy for diverse energy technologies including solar, wind, battery energy storage systems, pumped storage plants, and hybrid configurations.
- Coordinate with transmission operators, utility companies, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on grid standards and interconnection requirements.
- Assist commercial and bidding teams with defining project scope, assessing technical risks, and positioning grid compliance strategies.
- Manage advanced power system analyses such as load flow, short-circuit, contingency evaluation, and dynamic stability using RMS and EMT modeling.
- Create and verify simulation models for renewable generation assets including wind turbines, solar inverters, battery systems, and hybrid plants.
- Create and verify simulation models for pumped storage hydro and conventional generation units.
- Prepare and deliver simulation models for client use in platforms such as PSCAD, PSS/E, PSLF, EMTP, and DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
- Analyze interactions between converters, turbines, and plant-level controls to assess grid performance and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee the integration of extra-high-voltage transmission infrastructure up to 765 kV, including planning for power evacuation and interconnection design.

- Oversee the integration of extra-high-voltage transmission infrastructure up to 765 kV, including protection system coordination and reliability assessments.
- Advance grid modernization through deployment of wide-area monitoring systems and integration of phasor measurement units.
- Advance grid modernization by applying synchrophasor data for detecting oscillations and analyzing grid disturbances.
- Advance grid modernization via implementation of digital substations and integration with SCADA and energy management systems.
- Lead compliance efforts with grid codes for renewable, hybrid, pumped storage, and conventional generation systems.
- Evaluate national grid codes and track changes in technical standards across different regions.
- Convert grid interconnection requirements into control parameter settings and equipment capability specifications.
- Convert grid interconnection requirements into technical inputs for engineering design, equipment procurement, and commissioning activities.
- Support grid acceptance testing, certification processes, and resolution of technical issues with grid operators.
- Support compliance with high and low voltage ride-through requirements and validation of dynamic response characteristics.
- Lead battery energy storage system sizing, technology selection among chemistries like LFP, NMC, and flow batteries, and system architecture design.
- Define operational and integration strategies for pumped storage plants, including load balancing and peak/off-peak energy optimization.
- Optimize hybrid energy systems combining solar, wind, storage, and pumped hydro for improved grid stability, flexibility, and dispatch reliability.
- Develop strategies for plant repowering, lifecycle extension, and spare parts planning.
