Washington University in St. Louis is looking for a Grants Financial Analyst II to join the Neurology department. In this fully remote role, you will perform post-award grant activities with moderate supervision and may assist with pre-award activities with oversight, playing a key role in the department's research administration.
What You'll Do
- Act as a liaison to accounting departments to resolve issues and manage the year-end process.
- Track and maintain an online database of grants submitted, awarded, and rejected.
- Work with Principal Investigators (PIs) to provide fund management and make necessary budgetary changes.
- Approve purchasing documents and guide purchasing staff on grant-appropriate expenditures.
- Update and forecast grant expenditures for faculty grant portfolios.
- Ensure timely implementation of contracts and subcontracts by managing processes and complying with OSRS requirements.
- Create, address, and process moderate to high complexity correspondence with granting agencies (inquiries, carry forward requests, change in effort requests, no cost extensions, equipment purchase, and budget reallocation).
- Obtain signatures and forward grant financial status reports to PIs and senior leadership.
- Monitor invoices for outgoing subawards.
- Coordinate necessary support for internal and external grant-related information requests (biosketches, trainee info, protocol approvals).
- Manage the closure of grant accounts, submitting final reports and invention statements.
- Assist with day-to-day departmental grant financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, program budgets, reconciliation, and financial analysis.
- May assist with pre-award activities like proposal submission coordination, budget development, and compliance tracking.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree, or a combination of education and experience substituting for the minimum education.
- 2+ years of relevant experience.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of SUBS system and agency guidelines.
- Experience with accounting processes, grants accounting, and grant administration.
- Proficiency with computerized accounting systems.
Technical Stack
- Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
- Adobe Acrobat.
- Workday Software.

- Salary Range: $53,100.00 - $90,600.00 annually.
