The Automotive Virtual Total Loss Adjuster at Allstate provides exceptional customer service by virtually inspecting vehicle damage, writing repair estimates, determining total loss valuations, and negotiating settlements. This remote role supports the Good Hands Repair Network and ensures a fast, fair, and easy claims experience for customers across the United States.
What You'll Do
- Provide a superior level of customer service and attention to customers with vehicles needing repair
- Virtually inspect damage to vehicles including automobiles, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, and recreational vehicles
- Write damage repair estimates
- Complete total loss valuations
- Negotiate moderately complex and occasionally complex settlements with repair facilities, tow yards, customers, and estimates repair times for rental/loss of use
- Work independently, prioritize responsibilities, manage workload
- Explain coverage, estimates, claims, settlement, and rental processes to agents and/or customers
- Live into Allstate’s Claims Culture by caring, empowering, and restoring
- Lead with empathy in each Casualty claim
- Confidently and independently investigate casualty (and applicable LOB) claims
- Perform detailed reviews of damage and interpret policies to determine coverage
- Use phone, emails, and video chat to help customers through the claims process
- Incorporate a specific approach to claim handling to offer customer-preferred communication methods
- Keep customers updated on claim progress
- Evaluate and negotiate claims settlements with customers, vendors, third party carriers, and claimants in accordance with legal and business standards
- Incorporate tactics in handling challenging and complex situations
- Utilize estimate tools, job aids, and settlement platforms
- Apply critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment
- Protect the company financially by executing policies along policy agreements
- Maintain clear, timely, and accurate documentation in the claims system
- Summarize documents and enter them into claim system notes
- Document claim files with notes, evaluations, and decision-making process
- Work the Triage Tool and partner with the Good Hands Repair Network for potential total loss vehicles
- Determine reparability and if repairs can be settled rapidly
- Investigate moderately complex or occasionally complex files
- Review damage, take photos, and determine reparability or total loss
- Prepare damage estimates or valuation for moderately complex or occasionally complex claims
- Locate parts
- Evaluate diminished value in moderately complex or occasionally complex claims
- Triage moderately complex and occasionally complex total loss claims
- Initiate payments (QCP, Fast Mobile Epay, etc.) and pay appropriate parties
- Respond to moderately complex and occasionally complex arbitrations contentions
What We're Looking For
- Must be able to work from a home office in the United States (excluding California, Alaska, and Hawaii)
- Must have a dedicated workspace that is private and free from distractions
- Must have a minimum internet bandwidth of 50 MB down/5 MB up
- Must have an appropriate work surface and seating
- Must obtain an adjuster’s license in multiple markets as a condition of employment
- Must obtain all required licenses within 60 days of hire
- Must maintain all required licensing including continuing education and state-affiliated renewal requirements
Nice to Have
- 18 months or more experience writing Auto collision estimates
- Prior experience using an auto estimating program such as CCC One / Mitchel, Audatex
