As a Global Standards Engineer, you will lead the creation and implementation of engineering standards used across global operations. Your work will ensure technical consistency, regulatory compliance, and alignment with long-term sustainability goals. You will collaborate with engineering teams worldwide to harmonize specifications, improve product quality, and support the successful execution of capital projects.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain global engineering standards, technical guidelines, and best practices to ensure uniformity and compliance
- Analyze interdependencies between products, equipment, and manufacturing processes to inform standard development
- Ensure accurate documentation and version control of standards, making them accessible to teams worldwide
- Deliver training on regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal protocols
- Support regional audits, assess project-related defects, and refine standards based on findings
- Advise project teams on the correct interpretation and application of technical standards
- Collaborate with stakeholders to embed standards into capital investment initiatives
- Guide design decisions that improve return on investment through standardized solutions
- Incorporate environmental and sustainability objectives into product and process design
- Monitor regulatory updates and engage with industry groups to maintain current expertise
- Track emerging technologies and industry trends to promote continuous improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Mechatronic Engineering, or a related field
- Seven years of experience in engineering standards, compliance, or a comparable technical role
- Background in food/CPG or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments
- Ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time
- Willingness to work onsite 1–2 days per week at designated locations
- Must currently have authorization to work in the country of application; sponsorship is not available
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience managing and executing engineering projects
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent designation
