Renesas Electronics is hiring a Global Procurement Director for OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) to be based in Taipei, Taiwan. You will define and execute our global procurement strategy, ensuring supply assurance and technology readiness aligns with our company goals and manufacturing expansion. This role is central to securing our future in advanced package and test technologies.
What You'll Do
- Lead 19 team members responsible for OSAT strategic sourcing, RFQ processes, and Supplier Review Boards.
- Develop and implement the global OSAT procurement strategy aligned with company objectives, technology roadmaps, and expansion plans.
- Lead long-range supplier planning and agreements to ensure supply assurance, capacity expansion, and technology readiness.
- Lead multi-year, high-value commercial negotiations with OSAT partners covering pricing, master service agreements, capital investment, and tooling.
- Ensure supplier compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, sustainability requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Build strategic partnerships and manage executive-level relationships with key OSAT suppliers.
- Ensure an efficient and effective RFQ process within lead time.
- Lead the Supplier Review Board to confirm selected suppliers meet strategic requirements.
- Support the One Renesas project for successful integration.
- Work cross-functionally with leaders to ensure smooth business operations.
What We're Looking For
- 15+ years of procurement or supply chain leadership experience in semiconductor manufacturing or related advanced manufacturing sectors.
- Deep knowledge of semiconductor materials, equipment vendors, wafer fabrication processes, and global supply chain dynamics.
- Proven track record in semiconductor supplier negotiation, global sourcing strategy, and capital equipment procurement.
- Experience scaling procurement organizations for rapid fab expansion or high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Specific industry experience working with a broad range of semiconductor manufacturing partners involved with assembly, test and equipment / tooling suppliers.
- Strong strategic thinking with ability to influence executive leadership decisions.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Financial acumen with understanding of cost modeling and budgeting.
- Ability to manage complex global supplier networks and multicultural teams.
- Proficiency with procurement systems and advanced analytics.
- Fluent in both verbal and written English.
