This position supports a range of GIS and technology initiatives by managing geospatial data, generating maps, and producing detailed reports. Working remotely, the analyst collaborates with project teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of technical outputs. While candidates near Raleigh, NC are preferred, remote work is permitted.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply ESRI ArcGIS software to conduct spatial analysis using various data formats and transformation techniques.
- Maintain and update geospatial datasets as project needs evolve.
- Develop maps, technical reports, and presentation materials to support project goals.
- Coordinate with project managers and team members to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
- Seek clarification proactively from team members to streamline workflows and reduce rework.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to GIS applications, tools, and datasets.
- Follow structured, process-driven methods to manage project work effectively.
- Complete additional duties as required by project demands.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Engineering, Surveying, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of one year of professional experience in a GIS-focused role.
- Proven experience with ESRI ArcGIS platforms, including Desktop, Extensions, Enterprise, and Server environments.
- Strong technical ability in acquiring, processing, and organizing spatial data, along with planning and executing analytical workflows.
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively, with solid time management to meet deadlines.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to operate with minimal supervision while solving problems and completing assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working with transportation departments (DOT) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with stormwater systems and hydrological modeling is a benefit.
- Experience with Linear Referencing Systems (LRS) or Esri’s Roads and Highways extension is preferred.
- Knowledge of ESRI’s Production Mapping tools—such as Data Reviewer, Workflow Manager, and Task Assistant Manager—adds value to the role.
