JustPlay GmbH is looking for a General Legal Counsel to act as a trusted legal advisor across the company. Join a diverse team with over 29 nationalities and help navigate a wide range of legal matters while enabling the business to move fast, responsibly, and in compliance with applicable laws.
What You'll Do
- Provide expert legal advice and guidance to different business units on a wide range of legal questions.
- Work closely with top management to assess legal risks and provide pragmatic, legally sound advice.
- Own the contract control process and act as the primary point of contact for drafting, reviewing, and maintaining crucial legal documents.
- Ensure compliance with applicable data protection and other regulations, mainly in the EU and USA, including owning and further developing a compliance framework.
- Constantly monitor and analyze legal developments and legislative changes relevant to JustPlay’s business.
What We're Looking For
- Completed university degree in Law, as well as the first and second German state examinations.
- At least 5+ years of experience in the legal field and a proven record of general counseling, ideally at international law firms or in the legal department of a multinational company.
- Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
- High degree of autonomy and an independent work style.
Nice to Have
- Held a similar position as main General Legal Counsel in a startup environment.
- Profound interest and background in the publishing and advertisement industry, experience with IT contracts and data protection law, as well as a strong business acumen.
- Experience and knowledge in corporate law, governance, and tax matters.
