Livingston International is hiring an FTZ Import Specialist to join our Customs Brokerage team. Reporting to the Manager, Service Delivery, you will coordinate the release and entry processing for complex international shipments, ensuring compliance and timely client service.
What You'll Do
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of complex air, ocean, rail, and northern border shipments.
- Create customs entries by interpreting documentation and selecting correct client records in the National Service Center (NSC).
- Perform data entry for shipment release, rating, and billing, ensuring all mandatory fields are complete.
- Establish correct value for duty and tariff treatment based on invoice details and terms of sale.
- Work professionally with team members to obtain missing documentation or instructions needed for release.
- Verify documentation for release conditions, compliance, and rating compliance.
- Escalate two-step release requirements or issues to the appropriate team members.
- Participate fully in the day-to-day operations of the Release Operations team.
- Utilize available system automation tools to support release processing.
- Open files and input data for new shipments in relevant systems.
- Coordinate and prepare entry summaries as needed.
- Monitor the status of Customs and PGA releases at the time of release.
- Adhere to all client SOPs and business rules, identifying outdated items and recommending changes.
- Research and respond to information requests from team members via phone or email.
- Prioritize and complete work according to supervisor direction, Customs requirements, and company standards.
- Maintain effective relationships with clients, carriers, forwarders, and Customs officials.

- Working towards or successful completion of the Certified Customs Specialists (CCS) designation with the CSCB or NCBFAA is required. Successful completion of the CCS exam is mandatory for further advancement.
