Sofarsounds is looking for a Freelance Producer to curate, produce, and promote concerts and live events focused on electronic music in NYC. You’ll be a key ambassador, mapping out the strategic vision for our live electronic programming.
What You'll Do
- Strengthen Sofar’s brand in your local community through self-directed marketing to promote and sell tickets.
- Create and execute a strategic vision for show types, including venues, themes, ideal artists, growth partners, and marketing tactics.
- Lead curation and booking for high-quality, diverse experiences with support from the London booking team.
- Oversee and direct crew to deliver seamless, hospitable, and magical event experiences.
- Manage financial performance to ensure the success and health of every event.
- Build relationships with local businesses to drive sales of sponsorships and private events.
- Identify and partner with local organizations to build community, broaden reach, and co-promote shows.
- Collaborate with other producers and the wider Sofar London team to grow your show type and amplify brand awareness.
- Support inbound partnership opportunities by ensuring high-quality curation and seamless event operations.
What We're Looking For
- Must be based in NYC.
- Deep connections to your local scene, particularly in electronic music, and an active role in building community.
- 3-5 years of experience in live event curation, production, and promotions.
- Confidence pitching ideas and event concepts to potential sponsors and partners.
- A strong understanding of your area, its unique neighborhoods, and where people spend their free time.
- A natural connector skilled at building strategic relationships with community organizations, media partners, and businesses.
- Understanding of how to promote events and build alliances that drive ticket sales.
- A professional approach with pride in your work and a commitment to the best experience for artists, venues, partners, and guests.
- Exceptional time management and clear communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously while staying connected to the broader organization.
