Fox seeks a Freelance Field Producer to join our Dallas Bureau. You will be responsible for covering major stories, including breaking news, initiative reporting, and special events, delivering high-quality content for our audience.
What You'll Do
- Produce reporter liveshots and packages on location
- Travel domestically and internationally, often at the last minute, for extended periods to cover breaking news
- Pitch and develop original story ideas
- Manage newsgathering logistics, including booking travel and assigning field crews
- Coordinate all aspects of production, including booking, writing, ordering graphics, and producing taped segments and live shots
What We're Looking For
- 3 years’ experience as a reporter, writer, producer, and/or editor at a news organization
- Extensive field production experience
- Strong writing skills
- Extensive experience in the edit room
- Production experience in breaking news and feature reporting
- Ability to shoot video and operate LiveU
- Willingness to travel and work long hours, including weekends with short notice
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study
